Three Services, One Standard of Care
Each Pelangi service is designed to address a specific need — clearly scoped, carefully priced, and carried out with documented attention to detail.
Back to HomeHow We Approach Each Service
Every watch that arrives at the Pelangi workshop follows the same initial path: a bench assessment, a written record of current condition, and a conversation with the owner before any tools are applied. This sequence is not negotiable — it is how we ensure that work is appropriate, proportionate, and agreed upon.
Services are delivered at the pace the work requires. Movement regulation, for instance, includes a bench observation period after adjustment. Rushing this stage would undermine the point of the exercise. Owners are informed of expected timelines at the point of booking and kept updated if anything changes.
Pre-service assessment
Condition documented in writing and photography before work begins.
Owner consultation
Findings shared with the owner before any service commences.
Careful execution
Service carried out using calibrated instruments and appropriate technique.
Post-service report
Written summary and photography provided on completion.
Dial Inspection & Preservation
RM 1,600
A careful examination of dial condition, including discussion of any age-related markings and what they say about the watch's history. The team advises against unnecessary intervention where patina is part of a piece's character, and sets out the realistic options for owners who would like preservation rather than refurbishment. Includes high-resolution photography of the dial in current condition.
What is included
- Macro photography of dial under controlled lighting
- Assessment of luminous material, printing, and applied indices
- Honest evaluation of patina character and preservation value
- Written condition report for owner's records
- Preservation options set out clearly, with no pressure toward refurbishment
Process
Dial removal and handling under clean conditions
High-resolution photography in multiple lighting conditions
Condition assessment — printing, lume, indices, footings
Discussion with owner: findings, options, recommendation
Written report issued; dial returned in documented condition
Movement Regulation
RM 660
A focused service for owners whose watches are otherwise sound but running outside their preferred daily rate. Covers timegrapher analysis in multiple positions, careful adjustment, and a short period of bench observation. Suited to owners who would like a steadier reading without committing to a full overhaul.
What is included
- Timegrapher reading in six positions, pre-regulation
- Regulator adjustment with instrument verification
- Post-regulation bench observation period
- Final timegrapher reading provided to owner
- Rate data printout for owner's records
Process
Initial timegrapher analysis across six positions; rate recorded
Visual inspection of movement condition; findings noted
Careful regulator adjustment to bring rate within target range
Bench observation period — typically 3–5 days
Final timegrapher verification; rate data provided to owner
Pusher & Crown Refresh
RM 1,180
Replacement of worn pushers and crowns where the original parts are no longer functioning well, with attention to matching the case's original look as closely as possible. Includes gasket renewal and a basic water-resistance check.
What is included
- Assessment of existing pusher and crown condition
- Case-matched part sourcing where originals are unavailable
- Gasket renewal at all case entry points
- Basic water-resistance test on completion
- Before and after photography of case work
Process
Case assessment; existing crown and pusher function evaluated
Part sourcing — original or matched equivalent confirmed with owner
Crown and pusher replacement; gasket renewal throughout
Basic water-resistance test conducted
Photography completed; watch returned with written record
